Building Energy Codes Program for North Carolina
The North Carolina State Building Code Council is responsible for developing all state codes. By statute, the Commissioner of Insurance has general supervision over the administration and enforcement of the North Carolina state building code. I write here.
Carolinas Electrical Contractors Association (CECA)
The Carolinas Electrical Contractors Association, Inc. is a full-service trade association with a mission to assist and promote the collective interests of the electrical contractor. To accomplish this, CECA will facilitate and coordinate the activities that enhance the electrical industry. CECA will work with all governmental bodies, agencies, boards, owners, suppliers and other construction associations in representing the interest of the electrical contractor.

Illuminating Engineer Socieity (IES) â Raleigh Section
We are a nonprofit organization of lighting industry professionals united in a mission âto advance knowledge and to disseminate information for the improvement of the lighted environment to the benefit of society. This section has approximately 120 active members that reside in the area of North Carolina from the Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) to the coast.
North Carolina Association of Electrical Contractors (NCAEC)
North Carolina Association of Electrical Contractors (NCAEC) The North Carolina Association of Electrical Contractors professionally serves to unify the electrical industry through quality service, training and safety. NCAEC works hard to deliver a strong voice to the needs of electrical contractors â be they a one-man or a one hundred-man electrical company. NCAEC keeps members up-to-date with legislative initiatives that protect the right of electrical contractors. NCAEC offers a variety of educational training programs that help members renew their electrical contractorâs licenses.
Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA)
BOMA International is a primary source of information on building management and operations, development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics, technological developments and other industry trends.
Illuminating Engineering Society (IES)
The Illuminating Engineering Society, founded in 1906, seeks to improve the lighted environment by bringing together those with lighting knowledge and translating that knowledge into actions that benefit the public. The IES will build upon a century of excellence to create the premier lighting community dedicated to promoting the art and science of quality lighting to its members, allied professional organizations and the public.
Interior Design Society (IDS)
The Interior Design Society (IDS) is an independent national organization comprised of more than 2,000 members. One of the countryâs largest design organizations dedicated to serving the residential interior design industry, IDS embraces four core values including professionalism, community, influence and growth.
International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD)
Founded in 1969 and based in Chicago, IL, USA, the International Association of Lighting Designers is an internationally recognized organization dedicated solely to the concerns of independent, professional lighting designers. The IALD strives to set the global standard for lighting design excellence by promoting the advancement and recognition of professional lighting designers.
International Dark Sky Association (IDA)
IDAâs work includes initiatives to protect the night skies and fragile ecosystems in parks and protected areas worldwide. Today, IDA is the recognized authority for night sky protection and has taken the lead in identifying and publicizing the negative impacts of artificial light at night on human health, wildlife and climate change.
International Interior Design Association (IIDA)
The International Interior Design Association works to advocate for design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of interior design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well-being of peopleâs lives every day.
LIGHTFAIR International
The new language of light and technology is here: LIGHTFAIR International 2017. LIGHTFAIR International is the worldâs largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference â where light, technology and design converge to reveal new solutions, new knowledge and new discoveries.
Lighting Control Association (LCA)
The Lighting Controls Association, administered by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), is dedicated to educating the professional building design, construction and management communities about the benefits and operation of automatic switching and dimming controls. These benefits include energy savings, flexibility and higher-quality building environments.
Lighting Research Center (LRC)
The Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the worldâs leading center for lighting research and education. Established in 1988 by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the LRC has been pioneering research in solid-state lighting, light and health, transportation lighting and safety, and energy efficiency for nearly 30 years.
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)
The American Society of Interior Designers is a community of people â designers, industry representatives, educators and students â committed to interior design. Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building and outreach, ASID strives to advance the interior design profession and in the process, demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change peopleâs lives.
The Center for Health Design
The Center for Health Design started in 1993 as a team of forward thinkers with a vision for creating healthcare facilities that promote healthier environments for patients and staff. This vision became a movement. Since then, changes developed in healthcare facilities ranging from daylighting and access to nature to single-bed patient rooms and thoughtful design details that can reduce falls and infections. These changes are not only becoming commonplace â theyâre creating positive change.
The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS)
The National Institute of Building Sciences is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that successfully brings together representatives of government, the professions, industry, labor and consumer interests, and regulatory agencies to focus on the identification and resolution of problems and potential problems that hamper the construction of safe, affordable structures for housing, commerce and industry throughout the United States.
